What to do on your birthday in Perth

Looking for a unique and special way to spend your birthday? We work with our customers to provide the perfect custom tour for you and your friends and family! We can theme the tour around food, wine, beer, sightseeing, or any of your other passions and hobbies.

Because The Swan Valley is a mecca for lovers of craft beer, wine, and artisan food, and with so many producers to visit, it’s a popular destination for lots of different kinds of tours. Here’s some of our favourite spots to visit on a birthday food and wine tour of the Swan Valley.

Oakover Grounds

A great venue for your first stop because they serve breakfast, as well as lunch or afternoon tea. Their cafe sells artisan coffee and has a Swan valley Marketplace, as well as award-winning wine from the sprawling vineyards.

Sandalford

This Swan Valley stalwart has just gotten a makeover. The tasting room, alfresco and dining area are looking even more spectacular than before. Sample their award-winning wines, or book lunch overlooking the vineyard. Chardonnay lovers can’t skip this stop, their Estate Reserve Chardonnay is a must-try.

The Taphouse

Enjoy their craft beer and cider creations on tap with some classic pub grub. This venue is especially family friendly, with kid’s garden games, a large open beer garden, mini golf and panoramic views of the Swan River.

Mandoon

Their lawn is perfect for a picnic, making it a hit with the families. Head inside to visit their Homestead Brewery where the vibe is relaxed and the menu is full of big, bold flavours to complement the craft brews. If it’s an extra special occasion we recommend booking their contemporary fine dining restaurant Wild Swan.

The Great Northern Rum Distillery

Those who are more into their spirits have to pay The Great Northern Rum Distillery a visit. They’ll offer you their range of cane spirit, premium barrel-aged rum, gin, vodka and delectable liqueurs neat or over ice. We highly recommend trying their whole range, but our top pick is their internationally award-winning Canefire Rum.

Margaret River Chocolate Company

You’ve got to end the day with something sweet at the Margaret River Chocolate Company’s Chocolate Cafe. It boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, with the alfresco sun-deck, overlooking the gardens and vines. Choose from their selection of cakes, desserts, chocolate fondues, hot and cold drinks including the most decadent hot chocolate. They also offer free chocolate tastings, so you can be certain of which products to take home. We can’t go past the White Chocolate Cookies & Cream Slice.
